The Catia Direct Connect doesn't care about host type, connection, anything. You just need to buy the CAI product from Catia.
The SDRC I-Deas Master Series Direct Connect needs the same host types for the Studio machine and the I-Deas machine: Wintel to Wintel, Irix to Irix, Solaris to Solaris, HP to HP.
The Unigraphics Direct Connect needs the same host types and needs access to UG libraries AND a UG license during the Studio export.
